CheckCam — Visual Reminder is a minimalist iOS application developed by Volodymyr Zorin. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when using the app.

Data Collection

CheckCam — Visual Reminder does not collect, store, or share any personal information. The app is built entirely using Apple's native frameworks and operates offline, ensuring that your data never leaves your device.

CheckCam — Visual Reminder does not transmit any data off-device. No data, including metadata, photos, or notifications, is transmitted to or stored on any servers.

2. Photos Stored Locally and Auto-Deleted

All photos taken with CheckCam — Visual Reminder are saved locally within the app's internal storage (Documents directory).

Photos are automatically deleted based on your selected time preference (1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month).

Photos are stored in JPEG format with the following privacy protections:

CheckCam — Visual Reminder strips EXIF metadata including GPS location when saving image via jpegData(...). Creation date is retained only in Photo Library.
Photos are saved only within the app's sandbox and are not accessible to other apps.
Photos are automatically deleted according to your preferences.

3. Permissions

CheckCam — Visual Reminder requests the following permissions to function properly:

NSCameraUsageDescription: To capture photos within the app
NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription: To save photos to your Photo Library when you choose to share them
NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription: To access your Photo Library for sharing purposes
NSUserNotificationsUsageDescription: To send reminders for photo sessions

4. No Third-Party Services

CheckCam — Visual Reminder does not use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks. Only native Apple frameworks are used, including SwiftUI, AVFoundation, Photos, and CoreLocation (geolocation is not used or stored).

5. No Location Tracking

Although CoreLocation and MapKit frameworks are integrated, CheckCam — Visual Reminder does not access or store your location in any form. Geolocation metadata is not saved or attached to photos.

6. No Network Requests

CheckCam — Visual Reminder functions entirely without an internet connection. The app makes no network requests and has no external API integrations.

7. User Control & Data Deletion

You retain full control over your photos:

Delete individual or multiple photos manually
Configure automatic deletion in app settings
Delete all app data by removing the app from your device
Enable automatic deletion for complete data control
No content leaves your device unless you choose to share it

Users can delete all data from app settings or enable automatic deletion. You may request data deletion by contacting us, though all data is stored locally on your device.

8. Legal Compliance

CheckCam — Visual Reminder complies with:

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation): No personal data is collected or processed
COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): No data collection from users of any age
App Store Privacy Guidelines: Full transparency in data handling practices

9. Children's Privacy

CheckCam — Visual Reminder is not intended for children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Since no data is transmitted off-device, there are no privacy concerns for users of any age.
